Bobby J. Rodgers, Jr., Ed.D.
Dr. Robert J. Rodgers, Jr. is a retired educator with over 32 years of dedicated service in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). His work in education has always been rooted in community—driven by a desire to be a consistent presence and to leave a lasting impact on the lives of the students and families he served.
Throughout his career, Dr. Rodgers focused on developing both students and educators, serving as a mentor, role model, and advocate—particularly for those who needed it most. His work has centered on challenging and reshaping the narratives surrounding African American males in education, pushing for equity, accountability, and meaningful change.
His debut book, The Sower, reached #1 on Amazon’s Hot New Releases list during its first week of release and has received strong praise for its powerful blending of biblical truth and the realities of public education. His writing reflects the realities of the classroom and community—honest, direct, and grounded in lived experience. Dr. Rodgers earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. He holds a Master’s Degree in Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from California State University, Long Beach.
He continues to write and advocate with one goal in mind: to tell the truth about education—and to make it matter.
